Good evening, Carroll Leaders! This is Mrs. MacWilliams calling with your weekly updates and reminders for the school week of Monday, June 6 - Thursday, June 9.
It's hard to believe that the 2015-2016 school year will come to an end this Thursday. It will be a very busy week ahead for all Carroll students, especially our 8th grade student leaders, who on Monday, June 6, will visit the International Civil Rights Center and Museum and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, followed by the 8th Grade Dance on Wednesday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m., and the 8th Grade Moving-Up Celebration on Thursday, June 9 at 8:15 a.m. in North Hills' Midtown Park. 8th grade students will also participate in a fun-filled Field Day and Talent Show following Thursday's celebration.
Looking ahead to the 2016-2017 school year, the Carroll family is thrilled about many exciting opportunities and changes happening at our great school, including a partnership with the Positivity Project, whose exclusive membership will include just 30 schools nationwide. We invite all families to join us in a variety of capacities, including: committee work, service on the Principal's Advisory Council, participation in our Business Alliance, supporting instruction through classroom volunteerism, and lots more. All rising 6th, 7th, and 8th grade families are strongly encouraged to participate in Carroll's Community Involvement Interest form, located on our website at www.wcpss.net/carrollms.
The 2016-2017 elective course change period for families will take place from Thursday, June 9 - Friday, June 24. Families are encouraged to log-on to PowerSchool during this time to review and make changes to their child's elective selections for next school year.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact me at any time with questions, comments, and/or concerns.
The Carroll team wishes all families a safe and restful summer, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve and support students for the 2016-2017 school year.
Have a great night!
