Good evening, Carroll Leaders. Happy Memorial Day! This is Mrs. MacWilliams calling with your weekly updates and reminders for the school week of Tuesday, May 31 - Friday, June 3. 

End-of-Grade and End-of-Course testing will continue this week, including Reading & Math make-ups for all students, 8th Grade Science, Common Core Math 1, and Spanish. It is essential for all students to be in their homeroom classrooms by 7:30 a.m. in order to appropriately prepare for the instructional day.

This upcoming Saturday, June 4 is Family Fitness Day at Carroll. The fun begins at 9:00 a.m. on our field. Join Mr. Snarey and a fitness expert for a morning focused on family health and wellness. 

I'm looking forward a fantastic week at Carroll Leadership in Technology Magnet Middle School.

Testing

Please ensure that your child is at school on time for the remaining 10 instructional days of the 2015-2016 school year. EOG testing will begin promptly at 7:35 a.m. through the end of next week.

State standardized testing begins this week on Thursday, May 26. Please refer to Carroll's master calendar, located on our website at wcpss.net/carrollms for specific assessment date information.  

Do you have questions about testing? Do you think that your child suffers from testing anxiety? Are you wondering what exactly will be asked of your child in each content area? Join us tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. in the learning commons for our 'Survive and Thrive Testing' event for families to learn more about how you can best support your child through the stressful days ahead. Please RSVP on our website. 

Attention 8th Grade Families: Please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m. Students, teachers, families, and community members will gather in North Hills' Midtown Park for Carroll's 8th Grade Moving-Up Celebration. The event will conclude by 9:30 a.m. to ensure that our families who have students at Sanderson will be able to comfortably make Graduation, which is scheduled for noon. Please expect additional information from the 8th Grade Moving-Up Celebration Committee this week.

Good evening, Carroll Leaders! This is Mrs. MacWilliams calling with your weekly updates and reminders for the school week of Monday, May 16 - Friday, May 20. 

Special thanks to all of our families, alumni, community members, and faculty and staff who joined us this past Friday night for Carroll's 50th Celebration. Congratulations to our student ambassadors who led an exciting event and presented in the areas of digital story telling, theatre, band, robotics, challenge-based learning, and more! 

Please join us for our Spring Band Concert this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at Sanderson High School and for our Spring Strings Concert this Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in Carroll's auditorium. 

As a friendly reminder, end-of-year and end-of-course testing will begin on Thursday, May 26. While attendance for all students and staff is critical throughout the entire school year, it is especially important now through the last day of school on Thursday, June 9. 

I'm looking forward to an epic week filled with meaningful learning and teaching ahead at Carroll.

Good evening and Happy Mother's Day, Carroll Leaders! This is Mrs. MacWilliams calling with your weekly updates and reminders for the school week of Monday, May 9 - Friday, May 13. 

It's Legacy Week! Please join us as we celebrate Carroll's epic history, decade by decade, starting tomorrow in the 1960s, followed by the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s Tuesday through Friday. Then, on Friday night, bring your friends and family to our 50th Celebration from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. We're ready to party alongside Carroll alumni and our North Hills community with food trucks, yard games, a school showcase, and more! Tuesday evening, please join us for a PTA meeting at 6:00 p.m., followed by Carroll's Spring Athletics Banquet at 6:30 p.m.

Good evening, Carroll Leaders! This is Mrs. MacWilliams calling with your weekly updates and reminders for the school week of Monday, May 2 - Friday, May 6. 

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Please join us in celebrating the fabulous instructional leaders at our great school. If there is a special teacher who is making a positive difference in your child's middle school experience, please take advantage of this week as an opportunity let him/her know. 

Congratulations to Carroll's Theatre Club on an incredible production of Mary Poppins. Our student leaders wowed sold out crowds this past weekend on both Friday and Saturday nights. The entire Carroll family extends our sincere admiration and appreciation for all members of this very talented group of middle schoolers. 

Carroll's softball team will close out their season on Monday, May 2 against Dillard Drive at North Hills Park, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The girls began this game last Thursday, but were rained out in the third inning with a 9-8 lead. 

The Carroll team is looking forward to a groovy Book Fair this week, hosted by Ms. Deaton. Please stop by the Peace, Love, and Books themed event for a hip trip back in time.
